Ayah 1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ

Ayah 2وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
English Translation
and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day,
3
Ayah 3وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ
English Translation
and [of] Him who witnesses [all], and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]!
4
Ayah 4قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
English Translation
THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit
5
Ayah 5ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
English Translation
of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]!
6
Ayah 6إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭ
English Translation
Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire],
7
Ayah 7وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ
English Translation
fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers,
8
Ayah 8وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
English Translation
whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due,

Ayah 9ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ
English Translation
[and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything!

Ayah 10إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
English Translation
Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them!

Ayah 11إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
English Translation
[But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great!
12
Ayah 12إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
English Translation
VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong!
13
Ayah 13إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
English Translation
Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew.
14
Ayah 14وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
English Translation
And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love,
15
Ayah 15ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
English Translation
in sublime almightiness enthroned,
16
Ayah 16فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
English Translation
a sovereign doer of whatever He wills.
17
Ayah 17هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
English Translation
HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts
18
Ayah 18فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
English Translation
of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud?
19
Ayah 19بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ
English Translation
And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie:
20
Ayah 20وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
English Translation
but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it.
21
Ayah 21بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ
English Translation
Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime,
22
Ayah 22فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
English Translation
upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed].
